Indian Dancer opens with ‘Iphigenie’ new dramatic dimension.

Goethe is the sovereign poet and acts in words. Ofcourse! He operates through dramatics. He acts in dance. Please? The Indian dancer Rajyashree Ramesh danced Goethe’s ‘Iphigenie’ and the audience in the City Hall let themselves be fascinated by the Indian adventure of the great poet. The actress Erika Eller spoke her text at a leisurely pace and at the same time dramatically to musical score by Indian instruments like a clay pot, recitation and vocal. Rajyashree Ramesh, accompanied by two dancers presented the course of the drama in a strongly expressive fashion: Fear and repulsion towards King Thoas, joy of finding her long lost brother, fear about his death, joy in being saved – Movements, facial expressions, gestures – these were Rajyashree’s elements.
