‚Rasika’ Dance Ensemble was initially founded in 1996 with the aim to create performance opportunities for the emerging dancers in Berlin with a completed training in Bharatanatyam, who in turn would create the essential ‘Rasikas’ or Connoisseurs, the audience for dance, through innovative choreographic works. This unit has performed extensively in festivals and galas in India and Germany drawing the attention of press and public. Some of the dancers have participated in multinational multidisciplinary choreographic works, interacting with international artists and have created a niche for themselves as solo dancers.
